# winget update Erlang.ErlangOTP breaks erlang on windows

Hi

For some reason  
`winget update Erlang.ErlangOTP`

Breaks the installation on windows and `iex.bat` fails silently (also any other erlang command)  
So whenever I need to update `Erlang.ErlangOTP` on windows  
I need to  
`winget uninstall Erlang.ErlangOTP`  
`winget install Erlang.ErlangOTP`

uninstalling and reinstalling works fine  
Did anyone come across this and figured out what causes it?
