Erlang-RED - interview with Gerrit Riessen at TADSummit

Hey folks! Ukrainian Erlanger is here :sign_of_the_horns:!

I recently had the chance to take part in a fascinating session at TADSummit - together with @gorenje - Gerrit Riessen(father of Erlang-RED), Sam Machin(one of the key people behind Node-RED), and myself - all hosted by Alan Quayle.

We explored how Erlang-RED brings visual Flow-Based Programming (FBP) concepts into the Erlang/OTP world - combining Erlang’s message-passing concurrency and supervision trees with the low-code, node-based style of FBP.

We also discussed potential telecom use cases for Erlang-RED, exploring how visual flow-based programming could help build and manage complex, distributed systems more intuitively and reliably.

Gerrit shared many valuable insights (and some great humor  ) that made this discussion both informative and fun - and it was a great chance to dive deeper into this exciting project.

:speech_balloon: Feel free to share your thoughts and questions - and let’s help spread the word about this project by liking, sharing, and reposting!**

Thank you @vkatsuba for posting, it was great fun and gave me many good insights into what needs to be done to make Erlang-Red more relevant in the long term.

With many thanks to Matt Miller (@mwm), there is also an online Erlang-Red to play around with.
