Was there a thread here about libraries in need of help?

If I remember correctly, there was a discussion on this forum a while ago about the need to maintain existing libraries that are no longer actively maintained by their original developers. I can’t find the original thread at the moment and was wondering if any actions have been taken on that discussion?

I’m approaching a respectable age soon where I’ll have more time to do fun things. I’m therefore considering taking on the maintenance of a library. I was looking for a list of existing libraries that are looking for a maintainer, but I haven’t found such a list yet. Does anyone know of an actively maintained list of libraries that are seeking a maintainer?

If such a list doesn’t exist, how could you build one?

I believe the thread you are referring to was this one: Heroku replaces its Erlang-based router with Go . As far as I’m aware, there is no such list… Maybe you could start by compiling one

If Heroku had been running on Erlang until now without any issues, the reason for this replacement would not be scalability problems, but something else. Rigth?

If you read the linked thread (@MononcQc made some educated guesses there): no, probably not. If I understand it correctly, tl;dr they painted themselves in a corner, and the people who could fix it had already left when that lead to problems.
