It would be fantastic if Bandit were written in Erlang with a thin Elixir API layer so it could easily be used in both languages (like a few other projects out there), but unfortunately it’s not.

I agree! This is one of my main bugbears with Elixir projects, they are hard to use from other languages.

Hopefully Mist will be able to reach feature parity with Cowboy and Bandit in future, then it can be a good option for Erlangers (as Gleam is transpiled to Erlang prior to publishing to Hex and does not require the Gleam compiler to use as a result).

@lpil Sorry to bump this old thread, but thought I’d ask if there are any basic examples of using the generated erlang code from mist in an Erlang project?

Hello! Not that I’m aware of I’m afraid. The easiest way today would be to make an Erlang project but to use gleam as the build tool rather than rebar3.
